Pitta

"Pitta" comes from the Sanskrit "pinj" which means "to shine".

It corresponds to the elements Fire and Water, and represents all that is transformation in the body: metabolism, chemical reactions.

Pitta governs digestion, absorption, assimilation, body temperature as well as skin coloration.

The seat of pitta in the body is in the small intestine, stomach, sweat glands, blood, eyes and skin.

Pitta-dominant individuals are energetic, reckless and perfectionist; Often prone to feelings of dissatisfaction, frustration and impatience. They are otherwise ambitious.

A person of pitta nature is of average bone structure and weight, in proportion to his height. His musculature is well cut and his skin tans easily. His features are aesthetic, harmonious and symmetrical. See article on VataSee article on Kapha
